Katie was vying for and elected to the position of President of the Central District MASC. With the help of her classmates Katie worked the crowd, shaking hands and introducing herself, in the spirit of her campaign: Vote Katie Alfond - the Real Thing. See her campaign booth and materials below. As CDMASC President, Katie will be responsible for setting the agenda and coordinating next year's CDMASC conferences. She also will sit on the state-wide MASC Executive Board.

These are some of the students who represented North Middlesex so well and helped Katie get out the vote. From left to right: Danielle Cobleigh, current Treasurer of the Class of 2013; Katrin Hayward, current NM Student Council Treasurer; Katie Alfond; and Katryna Kusmirek, current NM Student Council Corresponding Secretary.
After being elected to her new office, Katie stated "I feel so honored to have been chosen for the position of CDMASC President. This organization has encouraged me not only to challenge myself into becoming a better person and leader, but also to help motivate others to reach their full potential as student leaders."
Katie will not be serving alone on the MASC Executive Board. At the state-wide MASC Conference in March, Kayla McKelvey, Grade 11 and current NM Student Council President, campaigned for and was elected as a Delegate to the state-wide MASC Executive Board. We want to congratulate both of our newly-elected student officers, and thank all of our students who so wonderfully represented North Middlesex Regional High School. See our talented students listed on the MASC mast-head at http://www.mastuco.net/
Katie and Kayla are not the first NM students to represent our great school and serve MASC in some capacity. They join Mr. Kevin McMurray, Class of 2006, who served as the CDMASC Vice-President in 2004-2005 and state-wide MASC Student President in 2005-2006 .
