On Wednesday March 16, 2011 thirty-two North Middlesex students participated in the National Latin Exam. The NLE is coordinated through a joint effort by the American Classical League (http://www.aclclassics.org/) and the National Junior Classical League (http://www.njcl.org/). More than 149,000 Latin students from all fifty states and thirteen foreign countries participated in this year's exam.
The hard work by our Latin students and and their Latin Teacher Ms. Julia Brown has resulted in an accomplishment that we can be truly proud of. Twenty-six of the North Middlesex NLE participants earned an honor based on their performance!
The following students earned a Gold Medal/ Purple Ribbon and the Summa Cum Laude honor: Sarah Carter, David Flournoy, Andrew Jena, Amelia MacCoy, Jess Sampson, Janna Schiavo, Ian Taylor, Samantha Libonate (Purple Ribbon) and Christopher Gibbons (Purple Ribbon).
Ten students earned Silver Medals and the Maxima Cum Laude honor: Madeline Balassie, Eammon Gosselin, Victoria Gray, Audrey Lambert, Brandon Lambert, Ashley Lucente, Lynn McEnaney, Kellan Morgan, Sara Ritchie and Therese Ritchie.
Five students earned the Magna Cum Laude honor: Katherine Alfond, Paige Clarke, Stephanie Gonnella, Daniel Greig and Vincent Marinilli.
And two students earned the Cum Laude honor: Andrea Fanciullo and Gina Zuccaro.
